While race is not the focus of the article, there&#8217;s this: &#8220;Among all the bowl teams this season, Auburn has the highest disparity in the graduation rates between white players (100 percent) and black players (49 percent), according to a study at the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been writing a lot about state revenue problems in Georgia. Nice overview of the national picture in today&#8217;s Washington Post: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2011\/01\/05\/AR2011010505798.html?hpid=topnews\">Recession-bruised states&#8217; revenue sank 30 percent in 2009, Census Bureau reports<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing financial pressures lead to more turmoil at the top for Memorial University Medical Center.
